Your Home with Christian Care, Love, and Tradition

New Athens Home is a facility with strong tradition of Christian care and love. Our resident rooms are decorated in warm colors and each bed has a beautiful hand made quilt to give it that "homey" feeling. Daily housekeeping and laundry keep our residents with fresh clothes and our facility odor free.

The New Athens Home Women's Auxiliary comprised of members of varous area church groups, are very active in fund raising for the advancement of the Home and the care of the residents. Our staff of trained individuals provide "around the clock" services for the residents in our 53 bed Skilled Care Facility.

Our Lounge and Sunroom provide an area of relaxation, visitation, color cable television, and pleasant music and recreation. Three delicious meals and snacks are served daily to residents. Whenever possible donated garden produce is used to highlight a meal. A Dietician Consultant constantly checks to see that all the nutritional needs of the residents are met.

Founded by the United Church of Christ in 1952, we are a tax exempt, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to attending to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our residents. We incorporate medical and nursing therapy into a broader concept that includes both treating the impairments of our residents and helping them to regain the maximum level of physical and psychological functioning.

The New Athens Home proudly fulfills all the many requirements of the Illinois Department of Public Health and is Medicare and Medicaid Certified.

Customized, personal Services to Families

Every New Athens Home Resident has a customized personal care plan designed to meet their individual needs and preferences. We review these plans with families and work with loved ones to ensure a positive and productive transition to our community. Moving is difficult, even in the best of circumstances, so we commit ourselves to helping families through the process from start to finish. We will work with your hospital discharge planner, Medicare and/or Medicaid administrators and insurance company to smooth the way and reduce the strain on your family.
