Our Mission
The Bowes Retirement Center offers independent living with the daily services for seniors who need extra assistance with daily living, but whom a nursing home is not needed.
The Bowes Retirement Center has been providing exceptional care to seniors since 1953. We are proud of our heritage, our tradition, and the quality, resident driven care that is Bowes hallmark.
We offer the most reasonable rates in the Fox Valley area without compromising the quality of the services we provide.
Personal Services
Although the Bowes Family Retirement Center is not a nursing home, we provide limited personal services including:
* Resident Watch Program
* Medical services provided by home health care.
* Therapy provided by home-care agencies.
* Podiatry services.
* Short-term stays can be accommodated.
*Local transportation arrangements can be made for health care visits and for attendance at area churches, which represent eleven denominations.

Our Beautiful Home
Located in the heart of Elgin's Historical District, our facility was constructed at the turn of the century as a mansion for a wealthy executive. Over the years, as our business grew, we expanded the facility, adding 36 rooms to better serve our guests.
The Bowes Retirement Center features comfortable public living rooms with magnificent hand crafted woodwork. Period furniture offers a lovely surrounding for socializing, watching TV, reading, etc. These elements contribute to the comfortable yet elegant ambiance of our home.
